What Are The Classifications Of Automotive Filters

2024 12/28

The engine has three kinds of filters: air, oil, and fuel. The air-conditioning filter in the car is generally called "four filters." They are respectively responsible for the filtration of media in the engine air intake system, lubrication system, and combustion system cooling system.

A. The oil filter is located in the engine lubrication system. Its upstream is the oil pump, and downstream is the parts that need to be lubricated in the engine. Its function is to filter out harmful impurities in the oil from the oil pan, and supply the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other motion pairs with clean oil to play the role of lubrication, cooling, and cleaning. Extend the life of these parts.

B. Fuel filters are divided into carburetor and electronic injection. For gasoline engines that use carburetor, the fuel filter is located on the inlet side of the fuel transfer pump. The working pressure is relatively small. Generally, nylon shells are used for electronic injection engines. The fuel filter is located on the outlet side of the fuel transfer pump and has a higher working pressure, usually with a metal casing.

C. The car air filter is located in the engine air intake system. It is an assembly composed of one or several clean air filter components. Its main function is to filter out harmful impurities in the air that will enter the cylinder to reduce the early wear of the cylinder, piston, piston ring, valve and valve seat.

D. The car air conditioner filter is used to filter the air in the car compartment and the air circulation inside and outside the car compartment. Remove the air in the cabin or the dust, impurities, smoke odor, pollen, etc. in the air entering the cabin to ensure the health of the passengers and remove the peculiar smell in the cabin. At the same time, the air-conditioning filter also has the ability to prevent the windshield from fogging.
